The AB&C: Railfanning the Fitzgerald Subdivision
This is a video journal of my railfanning trips to CSX's Fitzgerald Sub through Georgia. Shot from 2001 through 2010, our journey begins in Waycross traveling through the flat, coastal plain then starts rising into the rolling hills around Cordele and finally into the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Manchester. Beginning as The AB&A in 1905, the
line went through turbulent times. The railroad was finally bought by the Atlantic Coast Line and operated as the AB&C until 1946 when it was formally brought into the ACL system. We also explore the history of this subdivision with author and rail historian Larry Goolsby. Lots of foreign and lease power. Lots of action.

Trains of the Bone Valley - CSX Florida Phosphate Operations
This 50 minute program takes you inside Florida's unique phosphate mining operation. It begins with a trip aboard a CSX train to an open pit phosphate mine and a giant walking dragline in action. The watch the loading process as wet rock is dumped into hopper cars 100 tons at a time. You'll see how the commodity is "rotary dumped" out of the hoppers and loaded onto awaiting ships.
